Lauren....I have enjoyed with fascination your odyssey into the Middle East. Thank you for the blog and commentary along the way. I'm sure you, like me, can appreciate people from other cultures and take away the good and hope that, in the future, they can evolve some of their antiquated ways that are less than humane. I would love to visit Dubai some day. I am so happy that you have been able to meet Mr. Clinton and the King of Saudi Arabia...what a privilege!

I appreciate your interest. I've definitely come to be familiar with the good and bad aspects of cultures I've come into contact with. Also, that wasn't actually the King of KSA, just a cardboard cutout [of the first king, Abdulaziz]. Thank you so much for keeping up with me and for the encouraging words.
